Maryland must act to address clinical staffing shortages

Too many Maryland hospitals face critical staffing shortages, affecting patients, their families, health care staff, and community health. What do staffing shortages look like? For patients, it may mean longer emergency room waits and extended response times. For health care staff, it leads to higher turnover and burnout. All of this leads to a reduced quality of care.
